Golf Is 90% Mental… And Most People Train 0% of It

You can have the perfect swing, the best clubs, and hours of practice behind you… but if your mind isn’t in the right place, none of it matters.

Golf is often said to be 90% mental, yet most golfers spend almost all of their time working on mechanics and almost none on what is happening between their ears.

As a performance and cognitive health coach, this is where I love to step in. Because once we train your brain, everything else starts to follow.

The Real Problem Isn’t Your Swing

One bad shot turns into frustration. That frustration turns into tension. That tension affects your next swing. Before you know it, one bad shot becomes a bad hole… and then a bad round.

Sound familiar?

This is not a skill issue. This is a thought pattern issue.

And the good news is, thought patterns can be trained and changed.

What I Teach Golfers

In my golf clinics and one-on-one coaching sessions, I focus on helping golfers take control of their mental game in a simple, practical way that works on the course, not just in theory.

Here are a few of the core tools I use:

1. The 60 Second Reset

After a bad shot, your brain wants to replay it, analyze it, and attach emotion to it. That is exactly what keeps you stuck.

I teach a quick 60 second reset that helps you interrupt that pattern, calm your nervous system, and get back to a neutral state before your next shot.

It is simple, repeatable, and incredibly powerful.

2. Visualization That Actually Works

Most golfers have heard about visualization, but very few are doing it effectively.

I guide golfers through clear, focused visualization techniques that train the brain to see the shot before it happens. This builds confidence, reduces hesitation, and improves execution.

Your brain does not know the difference between a vividly imagined experience and a real one. When you use that to your advantage, everything changes.

3. Preventing the Downward Spiral

The goal is not to avoid bad shots. Every golfer hits them.

The goal is to prevent one bad moment from turning into a chain reaction.

I teach golfers how to recognize the moment their thoughts start to spiral and how to shift quickly so they stay in control of their round.

Your Brain Leads… Your Body Follows

When your thoughts are scattered, negative, or rushed, your body reflects that instantly.

When your mind is clear, focused, and calm, your body performs differently.

This is where the real edge is.

Not in more swing changes. Not in more tips. But in learning how to think differently on the course.

Ready to Elevate Your Game?

If you are tired of knowing you “should” be playing better, but something keeps getting in the way, it is time to train the part of your game that actually controls everything else.

I offer golf clinics and one-on-one coaching focused on mental performance, visualization, and in-the-moment reset techniques that you can use immediately on the course.
